N-1,3-Dimethyl butyl-N’-phenyl quinone diamine (6QDI) is used as an anti-degradant and processing aid (Flexsys 2007). It is the oxidized form of N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N’-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD) which is used as an antioxidant, antiozonant, and polymer stabilizer in butadiene rubber, nitrilebutadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and synthetic isoprene rubber (HSDB 2002).
